welcome to our blog!

This blog tells the story of our 22-month sailing journey from Oakland, California, to Bristol, Rhode Island, aboard our beloved Bristol 32 sailboat, Ute. Please feel free to browse through the archives (partway down the sidebar to your left) to see pics and read stories of our adventures in North America and Central America . (Sorry the first 3 months of the trip are missing - they vanished somewhere in an internet cafe in Mexico - but all you're missing is CA, Baja and Western Mex).

If you're trying to track us down now that we're landlubbers, try us at uteatlarge at yahoo dot com. Thanks!

in stark contrast to the tasty crab and chicken was the appalling array of very weird junk foods, like these hamburger-flavored Cheetos. "Gross" doesn't really convey what eating these was like. but we had to try them..... Posted by Picasa

the grilled-chicken-flavored Lay's potato chips were actually pretty okay, but not good enough to buy them again....

Clearly, the next generation is going to enjoy flavors that are unheard of before. I like plain old chips, freetos, doritos - no additions please unless I dip into it myself. Went shopping for presents today - something for all - you, two, too. So surprise, we are all arriving for the long holiday week - wish we were surprising you. Mile weather still - 50's - maybe a storm coming - Off to relax for the evening. hugs hugs hugs nmc
